Dover Castle

Dover Castle, Kent, sitting atop the famous White Cliffs of Dover and holding 2,000 years of history within its walls can offer a perfect answer to anyone searching for a film location, unusual venue for a private or corporate dinner or celebration.

For the film makers we have a magnificent 12C keep, with huge rooms and wide (and narrow) spiral staircases, medieval tunnels, battlements, a roman lighthouse, Saxon church and an labyrinth of secret tunnels which run deep into the White Cliffs. From here Churchill and Admiral Ramsay planned the Dunkirk Evacuation. Today, they look just as they did in the war years and are filled with military intelligence equipment and a World War II hospital.

For that unusual dinner or celebration, both the Secret Wartime Tunnels and the atmospheric medieval themed ”Siege Experience” area in the keep are available for hire. We have excellent on site caterers and can also offer the Tudor rooms in the keep for a pre-dinner reception.

Best of all, the proceeds form any facility fee go to English Heritage to help upkeep the castle and other historic monuments in England.
